Earth Charts and KML Export

Entrance IDE version 1.4.32 is now available for download from http://dbentrance.com/

This version has a new “EarthChart” tool in the Charts menu, making it easy to plot latitude, longitude data from MySQL tables. The tool guesses the latitude and longitude columns automatically and generates the plot. (You can also select them manually)

The popup menu for EarthCharts now includes items for saving CSV and KML files. KML, for “Keyhole Markup Language”, makes it possible to write out locations from Entrance and read them into Google Earth and other applications. Saving data in KML format is available on all platforms.

On Macintosh computers, there is also an “Open in KML application” check box on the dialog for saving data as KML. With this box checked, Entrance opens the saved KML file after saving it. With Google Earth installed, this feature is hugely useful. Try it!
